Postcard for TRON Legacy
To celebrate the highly anticipated release of TRON: Legacy, in cinemas 17 december 2010 , Don’t Panic started a graphic contest to create a TRON: Legacy inspired postcard based on the theme ‘Hidden Places’.
My entry is a visual inverse journey to the world of Tron Legacy: from the Grid to the arcade to the single coin that starts the adventure. Circles represent disks and also gates to parallels places.

paolotonon.com shows today a new skin. I created this portfolio 18 months ago upon Wordpress platform and I kept changing the graphic theme ever since. I modified some famous theme like Grid—A—Licious but now I feel the need of a more consistent design.
The base inspiration come from a picture taken by my beloved wife at Lago di Misurina during a very foggy day. I like the ethereal and liminal atmosphere of this picture, I think it describes very well my aesthetic feeling in these days.
I used the modern-clix theme as base, than I build a little semi-movable theater using jParallax.

Poster for partecipation in Felicity international graphic competition. Felicity is an international design competition is open to graphic artists all over the world. The primary objective of Felicity is to promote a debate around the basic theme of life in the community and how improvements can be made.
This Artwork like the Isadora city in the Calvino’s novel has two main aspects. By one side the raw data that describe the 136 most populated urban areas in the world. This data tell us about the basic city characteristics: Population, Extension, Density ad Purchasing Power Parity. Like the subterranean lake, the data feed upper semantic levels.
By the other side the artworks presents a graphic representation of the data by exploded pie charts that may look like wells; a very complex visual scenario but coherent, like the Calvino’s description of aerial part of Isaura.
The story is an attempt to find human meaning in the raw data. Good stories, based on true data, can really enhance our cities.

The trailer represents the today’s society immersed in information noise, driven by trans-humanistic hopes, feared the hidden taboo in the eyes of the majority, rather inclined to uncritically follow stars created by the Monarch Project.
At the center there is the artist that reveals hidden meanings by semantically reversing ready-made. icons.

Written Circles is a generative program made for Written Images: a project in contemporary generative print design and art. Its final products will be a book that presents programmed images by various artists. Each print in process will be calculated individually – which makes every single book unique.
